Nadia & Joe’s Summer Fiesta {Philadelphia Event Photographer}

A few weeks ago I received an email from Nadia who was looking for a photographer for her party.  She explained that her and her husband Joe lived in San Antonio.  She was coming to town for the first time since finishing chemotherapy and was having this summer fiesta to see all of their friends and family.  I was so happy to be able to capture this day for them.

Nadia did all of the work on the details to give them a “fiesta” flair.  Everything was so colorful and so fun!  Nadia and Joe gave hot sauce and maracas as party favors to all of the guests.  The personal note tag had special significance considering their journey.

Instead of table numbers, Nadia and Joe used postcards from their favorite places in Texas.  On the back, they wrote what they loved about each place. LOVE! On this postcard, Nadia and Joe described their excursion to  Big Bend, their first excursion since facing cancer.

They even used a decorative chalkboard to display the seating arrangements for the fiesta.

Belmont Mansion is a beautiful location for an outdoor event.  Not only is it a historical mansion in the middle of Fairmount Park that has an amazing view of the city.

This was a really fun event to shoot. Nadia was such a great hostess. She has a great personality and never stopped smiling the whole day!

Kelly - That looks like such a blast. I LOVE the idea of the postcards with notes as table numbers. Such a great conversation piece and shares great personal stories. And the teeny pinatas…adorable!

Congrats to them! :)

A tea party celebration! {Philadelphia Baby Photographer}

That’s right! My little babies are almost 10 months old! It’s all going by so fast. Of course, we marked the occasion with a photo shoot in fancy dresses and a tea party at the park.

My plan was to do a 9-month photo shoot with the babies, but it took a while to come up with a theme. So, my niece and I went into the babies’ closet for inspiration. (Things just sometimes appear there….that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!)  We decided on these adorable black patterned dresses and then had the idea to throw a little tea party.   My mom found the perfect tea set to match their dresses.  And….off to the park we went.

Sophie is all about standing up….and apparently she is a gracious hostess as well.

However, not even the best of hostesses is happy when her teapot is taken away. (can you believe the pointy toes?)

I just had to try some bows! (Berets would have been going too far right?  right?)

It’s hard keeping these little bundles of energy entertained.  I’m so tired, but very, very lucky.  This time last year I wasn’t even able to wear shoes and couldn’t WAIT for them to arrive.

Their personalities are so different and so much fun.  And just before I wrote this blog post, Meghan pulled herself up to standing all by herself for the first time.  There’s lots more changes to come and I can wait.  I love you babies!

Josh and Allie’s Celebration Part II {Philadelphia Bar Mitzvah Photographer}

Following the service, (Part I) Josh and Allie had an amazing B’nai Mitzvah party at The Germantown Cricket Club in Philadelphia. The space was huge and the decorations and lighting made it even more fabulous! I really loved these lanterns that were hanging over the kids’ tables. Such a great photo op!

This was such a different and fun idea! Allie’s friends signed a door that she would put in her bedroom. What a great idea for a keepsake to remember the party!
