Veronica + Wally – Part II – the bride and groom!

Once Veronica was all dressed, we were ready to start walking the grounds and taking portraits in all the amazing locations.  But, of course Wally had to see Veronica for the very first time!

Wally waited alone in a meadow while Veronica made her way down from the carriage house.

I just love this shot....I think it's the pockets!

See what I mean about amazing locations?

My favorite moment had to be when Veronica had to adjust her shoes during the portrait session.  I would have really loved to have helped her, but it was so gorgeous I HAD to shoot it!

Veronica gets the credit for finding this beautiful meadow.  She said she knew a place to go and off we went.  I love the light streaming through the trees.

Veronica and Wally – Delaware wedding photographer

Veronica and Wally had their wedding at the Rockwood Park and Museum in Delaware.  It’s right over the border from PA and I have to say, it was a beautiful natural setting to have a wedding.   Apparently it’s an 150 year old estate (owned by Joseph Shipley) that’s now a public park.  They have a carriage house where the reception was held, which is new but it really matched the rural ambiance of the original estate.  I’d like to go back sometime and check out all the grounds. My next blog post will have all the amazing locations on the grounds.

Here are some shots of Veronica getting ready……

I loved the pockets on Veronica's dress!

She's a DIY girl too! She added the sash and the flowers which just made the whole dress even more stunning!

This reminds me of my very first business card photo…….starring my beautiful friend, Lisa.  I changed my company name to Linda Morrow Photography pretty quickly after I started my business because no one could remember it.

But back to Veronica!

I was second photographer for Denise again.  Denise has a thing for elevators……I loved the color and texture on the wall here too!

5 whole years! Time to tell the Blue Comet story once again.

Today is our fifth dateversary!  We’re married and all now, but it’s much more fun for us to celebrate this anniversary.  For those who don’t know the story, Dan and I met on match.com.  I’d been on there on and off for about 7 years….he was on there for 2 weeks!  So unfair! We chatted a while and then my subscription was about to run out so he asked me out to dinner.

We met at La Pergola in Jenkintown on June 25, 2005.  I remember walking into the place, seeing him look at me at wave and think, that can’t be the guy…..because he’s so amazingly hotter than his photo! But it was. (And he didn’t look anything like a serial killer like he did in his photo)   After dinner, we went to The Blue Comet in Glenside.  I grew up in Glenside, but had never been there…..and it was his favorite hangout.  The Blue Comet is nothing fancy for sure.  There’s just something charming and a bit divey about it that we love.

Now let’s just preface it by saying that I was in the middle of painting the exterior of my house that summer.  I had bruises all over my arms and legs from moving ladders and buckets and some paint spots on there that wouldn’t scrub off.  So, even though it was a day in the 90s like today, I wore jeans and a 3/4 sleeve light sweater.  Brilliant!

The Blue Comet did not have central air…..it had one a/c that couldn’t keep up and some ceiling fans.  We sat at the bar and I’m trying to be interesting by telling some stories about whatever….who knows.  I notice that he’s yawning a lot.   So not only am I melting but I’m thinking this guy is totally bored with me.  Then he tells me he took his dad skydiving for the first time that day.  They had been out in the hot sun and had to wait for hours.  Of course, to this day, I still have to bust on him whenever he yawns during one of my stories.

My melting was really getting out of control at this point.  The humidity was turning my hair into Rosanna Rosanna Danna so I said it was time to go.  We had a little kiss in the parking lot, but I wasn’t sure if I’d hear from him again……but I did…..and the rest is history!

We’re going to The Comet tonight to celebrate.  It just reopened after being closed for over a year…..yay!!!!  Here’s a slideshow of some pics I took in in 2008.
